More Portfolios

In 2005 I took a road trip along the coast from Florida to Louisiana. Shortly thereafter Katrina destroyed that area. I returned there to document the destruction from New Orleans to Biloxi. I understood art's concept of the sublime and man’s powerlessness in the face of natural forces.

A decade has now passed. I returned to those same areas, expecting to see things back in order. What I found was not so tidy. Some areas were thriving. Others were still barren, cement foundations stripped bare to the ground, stairsteps leading to nowhere, overgrown grassy lots devoid of family homesteads. I was bothered by the loss of home that crossed all socioeconomic boundaries. This series is an expression of the emotion I experienced when revisiting an area trying hard to move forward after nature’s devastating effect. Images will be added to the website as they are created.
